I’m calling nonsense on this comment. I lived in Sarasota for 15 years and never heard anyone call it a ‘screened porch.’ I’ve only heard that term up north.

It’s a Hawaiian term. That’s what we call our porches. Some person must have heard it and passed it along.

It’s going to get wet when it rains. Your screened area won’t dry quickly since it blocks some sunlight and you’ll end up with mold.
