Is this nutsedge before I spend a bunch of money on Sedge Hammer?

@Kim
Reddit is not for the faint of heart. :joy:

Why do people hate sedge so much?

Because it grows so much faster than most other grasses and stands out like a sore thumb in most yards.

I’m mowing weekly anyway, but sedge is so grass-like. I try to focus my attention on weedier-looking weeds. The thought of killing all the grass around it to start over again doesn’t seem appealing.

@Greer
Sedgehammer is a selective herbicide; therefore it doesn’t kill all of the grass around it but only the sedge.

One application and 4-weeks was all it took for me.

A lot of people on this sub want to carpet bomb with glyphosate.

Because people who want a homogeneous lawn have to keep fighting this weed as it returns and spreads.

Because it is relentless.
