What is this and why is roundup not working?

@Marley
I think that’s the rate for dormant Bermuda on roundup. Don’t quote me on that though.

Double checked my recent bottle. Dosing range is 1.5-2.5oz. I always have some brushy type weeds mixed in so 2.5oz is what I’ve had to use.

I was mistaken about 3oz and I reckon some brands very well could recommend 1oz. I can tell ya 2.5oz did a bang-up job on my recent reno. Only a few small areas were surviving after 2 weeks.

Doesn’t work well on nutsedge when used according to the label I.e. in the right concentration but if I use an illegal amount it’ll kill anything.

@Joey
Ok, I am overgeneralizing, nutsedge will burn, killing top leaf but not kill the root. Iirc it’s about how it moves nutrients that it doesn’t bring it back to the roots but it’s been too long since I read the reason the standard mechanism doesn’t work.

@Hart
Just wanted to touch on the appropriate subject. We have customers using a godforsaken amount of products on their own accord as a result of something they read which sometimes leads to undesirable side effects.

Roundup has a few varieties. Do the active ingredients include glyphosate?

Those who are saying glyphosate takes a week. Are you adding any dawn soap to your mix as a surfactant? I always add and it works very quickly. Btw I think that is ajuga growing in those cracks.

Vinegar is effective for liverwort.

Burn it with a roof torch. But you will want to fill the gaps with sand or it will just come back. You can buy special sand for this that is supposed to prevent weeds, clean it out with a pressure washer first. Don’t expect miracles; I used it on my driveway, it took ~1 week before grass started growing through it again, but in all fairness, 6 months later now, and it’s a LOT less than it used to be.

Check roundup ingredients.

Vinegar, salt, and a few drops of dish soap in a spray bottle.

Boiling water. Nothing survives boiling water.

Have you tried pouring boiling water?

Can we stop using roundup for everything? Get some 30% vinegar, add some salt and dish soap. Works great.

Scalding hot salt water?

Boiling water and/or pressure washer.

Use boiled water with salt added instead.

I would try boiling water. Also try a salt water mix.
