I was recently gifted a Toro 22" Recycler mower, and I’m excited to start using it, but I’d love to hear from those who have experience with this model.
Damn good mower even at full price.
I used to have a similar mower, and it mulched very well. I moved to a bigger yard, so I switched to a zero-turn mower, but my dad still uses the Toro at his place. Don’t try to upgrade the blade—it’s not worth the money. The original blade works best if you keep it sharp or replace it with an OEM blade.
I have a similar model. These new gen toros are solid
Mine is 8 months old. Drive belt immediately slacked and then failed, rear baffle broke, trailing shield broke… I’m not too happy. It starts right up every time though.
Here’s my experience with the Recycler…the baffle broke, the trailing shield broke, the wheel broke, and the drive belt fell off several times. I also had to replace the recoil. It often gets stuck in a mode where the auto-choke thinks it’s warm enough, even when it’s not, making it really hard to start unless you have long arms or jam a glove in there.
I got a Honda this year and I’m very happy with it.
Toro is one of the worst brands imo
Mine is 8 years old and I’ve never had a problem. It’s a nice reliable mower…
