Google just finished installing this box in my front yard. I wanted to get some opinions on how to revive the yard around it. Do I just replant grass all the way to the box? Do I make a small pebble barrier around it and then grass? Any other suggestions?
All I know is, as soon as you get it looking good again, AT&T will come through and install their cable. I know from experience.

AT&T installed a couple years ago. Went through the back near the tree line so I don’t even see it.
@Corin
The contractors’ duty is to leave the easement in the same condition it was in after work is completed. If there was grass pre-construction, new grass should be sowed and strawed. I would start with contacting the prime contractor before reaching out to the city. 811 tickets are public records, search 811 for your state to contact the subcontractor who completed the work.
@Emery
You’re kidding, right? It’s called seed it before they come through with ‘contractor grade’ garbage infested with weed seed that doesn’t match, then screws up your lawn.
When they did my yard, they put sod in. If they do that, make sure to keep it hydrated.

Noted, thanks!
Google fiber is still doing installs? Jealous!
Verizon did the same thing to my yard (tall fescue) years ago. Shortly after, I had creeping Bermuda grass spreading in that area.
Heck yeah, I work for Oldcastle. That’s the best box on the market!
Only took four phone calls and four months to get them to fix my sod.
At least yours is buried—Comcast just slammed a 4-foot by 2-foot box sticking 2 feet out of the air on my property easement for cable that not a single house in the neighborhood is wired for.
Depends on how fast your grass spreads. I have Bermuda, and it grows so fast that you can’t even tell there’s a box at all. My water boxes are all covered up too.
Congrats on the new service!
Didn’t know Google Fiber was still a thing. Our AT&T fiber is phenomenal.
Whoever installed it should be responsible for everything. I would want that person to do everything up to seeding. They always use the garbage contractor blend.

This was likely installed in a utility right-of-way, so, technically, they are not responsible for reseeding. Right-of-ways are funny, they can do whatever they need to do, but you are responsible for maintaining it.
