I just bought a house where the seller recently passed away. His obituary stated how he was the guy to ask when you had questions about lawn care. I’d like to keep the lawn looking great, but am new to lawn care. House is in SC if that helps.
No stress, but don’t mess it up.

Holy hell, no disrespect I get grass is highly sought after on here but you desperately need some foundation plants. Keep the grass going but the value of the home will go up with some nice landscaping.
@Zan
There was landscaping, and it was all ripped out. New stuff coming soon!
@Zan
Doing good keep it up.
Feed it, mow high and often.
Keep it watered and mow tall. Don’t bag and treat 7x a year.

7 x a year? With what? Nitrogen/preemergent?

Here is the program I run.
Feb 1st round pre-em
Mar 2nd round pre-em
April-Aug iron fertilizer with broadleaf control
In July I add liquid grub control.
Late Sept or early October aeration and seeding.
November winterizer. Nitrogen base.

This guy is a commercial applicator lol.
@Vic
Do you manage a golf course or is this just what you do on your own personal turf?

Why mow tall?
Figure out what type of grass you have and look up care tips for the region you’re in. The hard part is getting a lawn to be well established. The rest is just regular maintenance. See if you can find a maintenance guide for your grass and region and follow it. Likely will need pre-emergent and fertilizer a few times a year. Don’t mow it short, and mow regularly.
I’d honestly see if there are any reputable lawn care companies in your area and see what they charge for yearly care. It may be worth it to you to just not have to worry about it if it’s not something you’re particularly interested in.
@Jessie
I would like to be interested in it. I have never had a lawn of my own before.

It’s a long love-hate relationship just to let you know, but nothing better than a great lawn you created.

How many acres is it?
Water weekly, fertilize bi-monthly, aerate annually.
Water, feed, and mow on a consistent basis.
