I really shouldn’t be doing this but I’m on my own. I need a tool that doesn’t require bending and will grab the roots. Has anyone used the Fiskars 4 claw? Thanks for any feedback.
Yes, you’ll really enjoy it. I take a 5 gallon bucket with me so I can pull them and toss them in the bucket.

This is what I do too. It’s great and works wonders for all types of weeds. Best of luck to you.

Sorry about that! I shouldn’t have assumed. Have a wonderful evening ma’am!
I haven’t used the Fiskars weed puller but I really like the ‘Grampa’s Weeder’. No bending required at all.

I agree with using Grandpa’s weeder.

Grandpa’s works better than the Fiskars—I’ve tried both.
edit: fixed a typo
@Harley
I have both. Fiskars pulls out a lot more dirt, but I can do a whole session without getting my hands dirty.
Grandpa’s Weeder pulls out much less dirt but gets stuck on the teeth, so I get my fingers dirty using it. I pull the root out of the clod and return the dirt back.
If I’m just doing a few weeds, I’ll choose Grandpa’s. If I’m at it for over 5 minutes, I go for the Fiskars.
What do you prefer about Grandpa’s over Fiskars?
@Reagan
For me, it was the ‘too much dirt’ issue. It was leaving big holes in my lawn. I think both of these are good options instead of chemicals if you want to avoid that.

What makes one better than the other?

That’s what I’d like to learn. I like how the Fiskars shoots the dirt and weed off at the end.

Grandpa’s is better.

Fiskars is too rough on the surrounding soil. Grandpa’s cuts in a smaller area.

I could help. I have really hard clay soil and I love my Fiskars. It pulls out good chunks of dirt but gets the whole weed, and the hole fills in after a few weeks. If I had softer soil, I’d suggest Grandpa’s weeder since Fiskars pulls a lot of dirt.
I also like how the Fiskars removes weeds, it’s easy to carry a bucket around and drop them in quickly.
@Harley
It’s the first and only one I’ve ever used and highly recommend it.

I agree that Grandpa’s weeder is excellent, another thumbs up from me.
Once you poison them, why even pull them? It’s simpler to apply a sponge with weed killer directly onto the leaves instead of pulling them.

Bending
Use a sponge on a stick. No bending involved.
