Is This Amount of Topper Necessary After Seeding?

My wife thinks I’m totally crazy, and my family agrees. It all started when I was stuck at home with a knee injury and had a bit too much time to think (dangerous, I know).

I’ve set up 9 zones in my yard – 6 for the grass and 3 for the flower beds – each with its own custom fertilizer mix.

It’s actually working great! I know I won’t hit the perfect soil levels I had in mind, but even if I’m 20% off, I’m happy with it. So, what’s the craziest project you’ve planned out?

If your wife seeded and top dressed your lawn I have some advice for you. Don’t look a gift horse in the mouth.

Right, I’m having a hard time believing this post is real :joy:

Please!… you guys. I do all the lawn treating and gardening and my husband does all the home maintenance.

I don’t think it’s necessary but, you aren’t going to regret doing it.

I think he regrets the muddy dog prints coming into the house!

OP isn’t getting the answer he was hoping for here. We may see this pop up on r/marriageadvice soon. link

You should probably keep the dog off the area you over seeded for a few weeks.

It’s not going to hurt.

Let your wife enjoy her hobby. Chill about a couple muddy dog prints.

What kind of topper did you use?

Kellogg.

It won’t hurt the lawn and it looks like it leveled out some low areas.

That’s one way to top your sub…strate.

I always put at least that amount as it enriches the soil. Jeez, the dog needs to stay off the lawn for a bit anyway.

I overseeded my front lawn, and it looked just like that.

It’s going to be perfectly fine as long as you keep the dog off of it.
