@Xavi
Interesting, thought the opposite because longer would make the effect more noticeable but that makes sense.

Have been trying to make my own stripper for years. So far nothing realistic enough.
For sure, this is a real pain when it comes to tight turns and backing up.

I made one almost identical, for backing up I just put a third eye bolt at the top, and ran a piece of 550 cord from that up to the handle. It has a little slack so it’s not normally taught, but if you wanna back up just pull up on the string.
@Gracen
Was thinking about adding this. Did you do it after the fact and thread it into the PVC? Or prior to filling?
@Gracen
That’s a great idea. Has was you able to get the lock washer on the eye bolt? I’m visualizing the eye hook in the middle of it on the top side of the PVC.

By literally ramming my arm as far as I could get it in the PVC and scrapping the skin off my hand lol.
@Gracen
Haha, solid. Thought it would be a little weird getting in there. I guess using a wrench with some painters tape on the back to hold the nut in the wrench could work too.

You may need a bigger pole than the PVC this one is using, fyi.
I made the same, love it except for the turns in the corner.

Absolutely lol. Such a pain.

I did the same but have a handle strung up to the mower handle so I can easily lift and turn.
I wouldn’t call you cheap, who the hell would spend $100+ for a striping kit when most of the time these can do just as good or even better? I’d call you smart.
Can you back up with it? I’ve been wanting to make my own, but I have such a small yard I have to push/pull to make straight lines in places.

It’s a pain to back up with. Ideally would want something to be able to lift it or something. So I have to try not to lol.
@Aubrey
Put two eyehooks on the top and bring some cord up to the handle so you can pick it up?

Yea someone had mentioned that here so def seems like an option. I wish I thought about that originally.
@Aubrey
V2.0 is going to be great.
Got about 20 years before you will have to mulch leaves.
Dude I made one of those things earlier this and have used it every time I cut. The best $40 I’ve spent. Super easy DIY to make your lawn look ‘professionally cut’. This is the video I watched on how to build it. Took 30 mins.
Bro, is your neighbor installing competition right in front of you?! Doesn’t even have the decency to wait until you’ve gone to bed. Damn.
