I made my own “striping tool” using 4-inch PVC and eye bolts. It works well enough for me for now.
I made one also and it works amazing. I don’t hook it up until I’ve done 2 perimeter passes, so there’s no backing up and everything is just easy turns.

Made the same but put another eyelet at a 45 degree pointing back towards me and tied Paracord to the handle. You can lift the cord up to elevate the striper enough to maneuver backwards.

Just an admirer here. My lot is all dirt. Is there any value to striping or is it for bonus points?
Have been trying to make my own stripper for years. So far nothing realistic enough.

Just find yourself a daughter and then neglect her and make her feel inadequate. Make sure she starts hanging out with shady people and tell her she will have to pay her own way through school. She’ll be a stripper before you know it.

I’m guessing OP followed this vid.
Pretty nice to me.

Came out pretty damn nicely. Try tweaking some stuff for even better results.
Maybe higher mowing and more weight in the cylinder?
@Nori
Yea come spring I’m gonna raise the hoc to 2”. This is currently 1.5”

Oh yeah that would make a huge difference.
Stripes are nice but you have to cut high.

Short grass stripes better and stays longer. It’s also that most places you look and see prominent stripes they are growing a different species and your lawn. So you say the Rough stripes better than tees and then fairways then greens. Greens hold the lines the longest and it’s the shortest cut.

A little bit more weight in the cylinder and it should give you perfect stripes.

What cultivars you got that 1.5” can stay that green?

It’s Perennial Rye from Ryan Knorr.
@Nori
Taller height is going to leave less of a effect. It’s going to stand right back up by next morning if it makes it even. Then it’s the grain of the species along w how much N you use to get the shade you want. The only thing taller grass at this point will do is allow for less frequent mowing.
