TTTF Success in Southwest Missouri — Still Growing Strong

@Gael
The fact that it’s fescue explains why yours is so green this part of the year.

But the fertilizer/weeding explains why it’s so lush!

Obviously there’s some explanation here because the neighbor’s lawn is completely different. Is yours a different grass type? Watering schedule? Fertilizer?

What’s your secret, OP?

He probably reads entirely before taking action.

Wondering if you should help out your neighbor? Your domination line is already evident. Just a thought.

I would love to if they cared to do it. I have hinted but they just don’t seem interested.

On the plus side, domination lines are the best!

Jokes on you. Your neighbors don’t have to mow anymore.

:joy: they have it figured out.

I hate Bermuda. Creeps into everything. I plant KS Premium Blend.

In Texas we LOVE Bermuda.

Oh ya, I would for sure have Bermuda if I lived in Texas. It just stays brown for 8 months of the year here. It’s really only fully green in the summer.

It’s evil! Fusillade 2 for me at half recommended rate seems to keep it at bay. Gotta be careful with it though; it’s some nasty stuff that can fry your fescue.

You guys don’t have leaves?

Mowed them up yesterday but not a ton, it’s a newer neighborhood and none of the trees are very established…most under 10 years old.

What fertilizer are you using?

What’s going on next door? Does that make for awkward neighbor tension?

Ya it sucks it’s just weeds and Bermuda creeping over constantly so I have to keep that stuff at bay. It’s not awkward; it’s a lot of work though.

What is awkward is that I went over a bit with my seed and water, so now on one side they have a few feet of nice grass that they don’t mow once the rest goes dormant, and it’s clearly my fault that it doesn’t match the rest of their yard lol.

Water bill?? :scream:

Yes…lots of that.

What kind of grass?

Turf type tall fescue. It’s had a few brands of seed over the past few years; most recently, advanced turf solutions. I think last year was Columbia River Seed Company or something like that.

@Briar
That’s my next frontier is flower beds; they are ok but not great. I have roses that require more work than I want to give, so I need something else in their place.

I have lots of other flowers for the bees like daylilies, Asiatic lilies, lilac, iris, and a couple more. The roses have to go for something more low maintenance but still nice. Any suggestions? They are right in front of my house, so very noticeable.
