Is there any way to get rid of these? The grow like 10x more than regular grass and its all over my lawn.
I hear Sedgehammer works well

It won’t kill the seeds. There are better options out there

Can you explain or share more details

Dismiss NXT kills the nutlets. I think Blindside does too
@Zen
Thanks for the advice, I’ve been using Sedgehammer and they keep multiplying

It works if you treat them before they get too mature. After that, you’ll need to treat them again
@Zen
I’ve used both Dismiss and Sedgehammer and they’ll return next year. You need to remove the tubers to get rid of them completely

I’ve been using Sedgehammer for years and it works great. I don’t see them coming back and it’s safe for my lawn. Other sedge killers haven’t done as well and have harmed my lawn more. Just use the one with a surfactant or add some yourself
Looks like nutsedge, just get a nutsedge weed killer
It seems like nutsedge, don’t pull it out. Pulling wakes up the nutlets and makes them grow more. Use Sedgehammer or similar products. You might need several applications about a week apart and make sure to read the labels before applying
@Quince
Pulling nutsedge doesn’t make it spread more than it already would. It can actually work to control it in some cases.
If nutsedge grows for a while, it creates tubers. The longer it grows, the more tubers it makes. Each tuber will eventually become a new nutsedge plant. Pulling it can trigger those tubers to sprout, but they would have sprouted eventually anyway.
When tubers turn into new plants, they spend their stored energy to grow. They don’t start replenishing that energy until the new plant has its fourth leaf. So if you pull it before it reaches the fourth leaf, it will use more energy than it can store. Once the tuber runs out of energy, it dies.
In short, pulling can be effective if you keep pulling before it grows its fourth leaf. Herbicides like Sedgehammer and sulfentrazone are usually more effective than pulling, but in certain cases, pulling might just be the best option
Automod note is sort of correct. Between pulling and treating, using the right herbicide is more effective. You should try to get them all before they reach the fourth leaf.
Sedgehammer won’t kill seeds. But Dismiss NXT will, and I believe Blindside will too.
Herbicide is usually the best choice for most cases. Spot treating with a small spray bottle should minimize the effect on nearby plants and new grass
I found that Roundup for lawns effectively targets nutsedge. Just keep applying and it works
Monument can get rid of nutsedge
Sedgehammer is a good option
In a vegetable patch, is there any herbicide that is safe to use
Vexis is slow but effective
I just pull them out, they come out easily
Sedgehammer works well
